    Shocking! Incredible! Awful! Frightening!

    Am I right in thinking you wrote some time ago that the shop has now gone? Vague memory in the back of my mind. All that precious treasure ….

    I knew someone very like this and it gutted me to have to suck up to her, but I reckoned that if it meant I got what I wanted and peace reigned, then that was worth it. But still.

    I am so sorry you have an evil nurse – there’s always one. I hope you won’t have to put up with her for much longer and that you are getting better every day.

      But surely you laughed ?

      That was the whole point of that post – sour comedy.

      The nurses have been lovely and i feel bad singling out one person but yesterday I was having a really bad day and my shower was scheduled for 4.

      This elderly underling who i sense is looked down on by the other nurses and who i have therefore tried to be nice to is also rather weird ( and clearly hates her job poor thing).

      She rocked up at 3:40 with the plastic wheelchair to drag me to my ablutions while i was watching a film. I asked her to wait a moment while I gathered myself and my belongings whereupon she suddenly aggressively lunged at me and tried to rip off my socks

      I went apeshit with language that was shocking freaking out the new bedmate sorry roommate who must have thought he was stuck with a psycho ( seriously the mix of drugs is getting to me ); today is much better and I haven’t seen her so far.

      I am presuming she will not be the one taking me to the shower today. Better get my stick ready just in case

    A nervous laugh, but sort of shrivelling up inside too. It’s brilliant reading about your experience as you describe it with such humour, albeit very black!

    Pain is wearing – it’s not just the meds getting to you. You’ve spent a long time in that surreal bubble in hospital, suffering, and you don’t need an evil little gremlin being unkind. You should be cossetted and molly coddled.

    It is odd that there are those in jobs dealing with people who don’t like dealing with people!

    Glad today is a better day, and hope that from now on they will all be good ones.

      Rash from hell is finally subsiding, I can walk ( still don’t know if I did the right thing), but anyway, there is no real reason for me to be here now so hoping to get out in the next three days.

        That’s good news. Don’t run before you can walk (you have permission to hit me with your stick for that!). But do take it as easily as possible. You will feel soooooo much better when you are back home – but also a bit nervous once free of the cocoon of the hospital. However, you’ve been through all this before, so who am I to tell you any of this?!

    No nurse, anywhere in the world should touch a patient unless they consent. Either explicitly or have intimated consent by their actions. To do so is assault.

    The perfume breathing dragon? As you say, she owns the property, doesn’t need the cash, so obviously does it simply to abuse those wanting to take something from her. To her it’s like Smaug’s hoard!
