What a handsome blossom! Unfortunately, blooming trees are nowhere to be seen here: minus 10 Celsius in Berlin!
We were planning on visiting Japan this Spring. However, we cancelled as prices are soaring everywhere: cost of living, food, housing taxes, flights etc. Everything is more expensive after Corona and after Russia‘s attack on Ukraine. So, no cherry blossoms for us, we‘ll have to make do with Berlin‘s linden trees. What a pity!

Yes, so was I. I am sorry indeed! But a round trip would have cost thousands, so we made that choice.

    • My dilemma too : coming back in the summer will be SO expensive for us it is nightmareish – but we simply have and want to visit the family

No money for perfume any more – just freebies in nature like this ume

Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for posting.

  4. No blossoms here in Yorkshire. Been snowing intermittently all day & it hasn’t been dry for almost 6 weeks. The ground is saturated.
Ume blossom, in fact Ume anything appeal to me

Lovely, Neil. We’re still a couple of weeks away from ours, so these early blooms are a pleasure to see.
