I guess it’s that time of year again for you . . . any new coconut loves?
I’m not sure what it is, but I have just not found a connection with coconut yet. I suspect it’s partially due to my not overcoming my puritanical WASP roots. I also associate coconut with “beachy” scents which bring to mind sweaty inflamed gritty oiled flesh oozing alcohol and plagued by insects and all I can think of is how soon I can take a shower.
I moderately like Kerosene’s Unforsaken, and I remember enjoying Yosh’s Ginger Ciao. Have you tried the favored Terracotta, Musc Monoi or Bronze Goddess?
Speaking of Demeter, I happen to love Salt Air. That’s the scent of the beach at the end of a summer day. The crowds are gone, the sun is setting, and the surfers are gently coasting along the waves.
I WANT TO SMELL IT. I definitely need to smell Bronze Goddess (though there’s no way I would tell people what I was wearing. There are limits to camp). Ginger Ciao I was a bit un-taken with (is it coconutty?). Unforsaken I have never heard of, though his Joy Division scent whose name I have temporarily forgotten was rather sickeningly sweet.
Glad you came on here. I got a proper No I9 parfum the other day. Not the zenith, but good enough to send you. Email me: opoponax8@hotmail.com
Hope you will lavish your senses with the delight of coconut, I really need to partake of scents with it in them.
The only scent I own which has a hint of coconut to it, even though it contains not a drop, is Infini de Caron. There is a point after it has been worn for about a half hour where the notes just meld into a slightly coconuty vibe. Well, at least it does that on me. Outside of that, only Tiare from Comptoir Sud Pacifique had a coconut note and that I have not owned for years.
Ah, Infini…………f*$%ing love it. I also find it beachy strangely, and reach for it at this time of year. I wonder why that is?
I wonder that also? It strikes me as having a beachy vibe. 1970’s tie dyed bathing suit et al, beachy vibe. Adore it!!!
I ADORE it.
Two bottles by my bed. The finest vintage oh yes
Gorgeous photos and great writing.
