  1. It’s boiling here too!

Must be nice for the folks in Solihull. A cool 16 tomorrow and a bit of drizzle. Kind to the roses.

    Mind you, you’ve got gardenias.

    Fair trade!

  3. This is us too — just this week. I always struggle with what to wear, then give up trying to win. For some reason Paco Rabanne puts up a decent fight… Someone once (favourable) described it as smelling like a freshly cleaned truckstop washroom, so maybe this is how I want to feel?

Acqua Di Parma Colonia Essenza, if I spray enough on my clothing, at leasts helps me to imagine I’m overheating by the pool of a hotel somewhere in the Mediterranean — something about the neroli reminds me of certain brands of suntan lotion. Maybe the trick is to find things whose notes connote the smells of heat in general?

I recall that a shirt semi-saturated in Guerlain Vetiver, which makes me think of dry summer grass and old, baked masonry, once made a very, long, very hot, very populous bus ride across Los Angeles bearable.
