I enjoy just looking at that beauty. I had a huge jasmine in my garden that mostly died over the winter, with only a few straggly long shoots with buds, recently cut down by a gardener; I’m bereft. But the wisteria is out and rose buds have appeared. Meanwhile, many jasmines live on my shelves, the viridescent Fueguia Amalia being my most worn, followed by SL A La Nuit.
I wish I had sophisticated enough insight to know. It’s very sharp and fresh, long-lasting, not a hint of sickly-making sweetness, in my view. I love it.
That is a common shrub in California, Jasminum polyanthum – delightfully fragrant in spring and summer.
My raat ki rani ( queen of the night) jasmine is blasting its honey buttered sweetness in my yard! Something, anything to give us hope in these unprecedented times.
This was my point precisely. I have been rendered speechless by everything; personal woes and the world itself. Hence the crap post (apologies for the rude failure to reply!)
In the moment I just had to respond to the divinity of the jasmine!

Sincere apologies for the horrendously late reply; I have had a great deal going on.
There is a Fueguia store in Ginza I might have to visit specifically to smell Amalia – do you think I would like it?

And really sorry it’s been tough for you. Are the legs being difficult?
That’s the same type of jasmine we have all over Berkeley, California. It blooms twice a year. Heavenly.
Yes – we finally have one of our own in the front garden and I am rather delighted.
