Beautiful! I think im going to turn an area of my garden into being totally white and silver, hadn’t thought about gardenia. Must do some research and see if the would grow in Northern England….

If only. I think they need moisture and heat, hence the profusion of them in the Deep South. I never even smelled one until I came to Japan, and this weekend they all seem have bloomed. Who needs hydrangeas when you can have gardenias?!
Exactly…. I was in japan last week.. there were gardenias blooming as well as god damn Hydrangeas everywhere.
I only like Hydrangeas when they have been let go wild and have grown huge.. they can be quite nice as a hedge.. but they have no smell.. why not.. their main attribute is that they are very hardy so wont suddenly die on you..
Beautiful! Just watch out for the spider, that would be unpleasant to encounter it instead of the scent.
I know. But I thought its greenness added an extra frisson.

I hate them in honesty. Totally sick of them! The gardenias on the other hand, until they go brown and foul, are heavenly.
Gorgeous!
I just want to bury my head in them. EAT THEM.
There is nothing like the scent of a live gardenia. <3
I know. They kill me.
