A brief reprieve on the psychotic computer, and the osmanthus is out, in full, a whole week early, on Helen’s birthday.
Happy birthday, muse x

Thank you for my birthday honours! and for conjuring something so beautiful to mind today. hxxx
C’est mon plaisir, madame.
Osmanthus must be so lovely. You have such beautiful variety in Japan.
….and to have such a feast of it right outside the window….
Searching for the Osmanthus, who had slyly hidden her/him-self in the past, I passed unread pages of Black Narcissus. 2013…From summer to autumn. That promises a wonderful bouquet de nuit.
And another scent to explore, 1000 by Patou.
Merci pour mille et une nuits de delices on behalf of my nose, and what lingers above … Happy autumn, oh you who can become sated with Osmanthus…
There is a dutch writer from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, Louis Couperus, who wrote the following words
” o, wat verveel ik mij, onder rozen verveel ik mij”. Clumsily translated as
“Oh, I am bored, among Roses I am bored”.
What divine luxury!
And that speaks, utterly, to the decadent heart in me.
