Did you get a full bottle of it then? Kastellorizo by Maison de Parfum Berry also features mastic and has an “uncomfortableness” that increased throughout wear, which I chalked up to its feeling “pasty.” I would have to be a bit masochistic to wear it again.
Yes – pasty sounds about right; a chalkiness. I would love to smell mastic up close to see precisely how it is used in this perfume, but having found a full bottle cheaply I have already used about an eighth of it – when I am totally in the mood for a scent I just drench myself in it. I am intrigued by the Kastellorizo, but ultimately, ‘uncomfortableness’ , as you say, is not what you really want from a scent. It’s strange how when I originally wrote this review the whole thing seemed more spiky and weird, whereas now it just feels perfect.
Also intrigued by Kastellorizo. It sounds like it might be one of my perfect perfumes – fig and mastic and artemisia. Greek twist. In the meantime, the BN has sent me once again in search of violet scents.
I love you. You and your Greek figs. xxx
