Neil, my friend has this in her garden and it flowers from May to the end of summer, just like me. It is a lovely flower but I have never had this plant and I honestly do not know why. I will think about it when I next go to the garden centre and make sure I smell it. Love Daphnexx
It’s funny you posted this because recently I was trying to find out if any perfumes are based on the scent of daphne or have daphne notes. It is blooming in my garden right now and the fragrance is so pretty. I could only find two on Fragrantica, one a discontinued Avon scent. Do you know of any?
The only problem is that although the flowers smell appealing in real life, in perfume form, especially if synthetic, they can smell overly strident and ‘innocent’, like a Republican housewife wearing Lancome’s Miracle (my idea of an olfactory nightmare).

I definitely bloom from May as well: can’t WAIT for the heat to begin….

I have one, actually, that is Japan made, which is a pure Daphne. I will review it.
I did a little more research; apparently Parfums DelRae has one called “Wit.” I’ll have to try it some time!
