I don’t know any hardcore perfumistas who are actually in search of their signature scent, we are mostly fickle whores with too many bottles, but can’t wait to read it anyway. 🙂
I can hardly wait to read it! I have 400 signature scents, but you know me, always in the market for another. I am waiting impatiently to get a copy as soon as late March roles round.
A thousand huzzahs for you and very well deserved.
Oh good. The one before was a bit lame. This is meant to grab the public’s attention so it had to have a ‘handle’, if you like, and I think looking for your signature might be it!
It is a very unusual title
It connects you to the consumer/reader in the way of scent
A true vademecum based on own love and experience
Be proud of your creation
I’d love to be there, only a hop across the Channel
your book and the spring, that’s something to look forward to. Not sure about the title but I am definitely always looking for the ONE – don’t think I will ever find it though, and would that be a good thing?
I don’t know, but I think while perfumistas obviously have millions, there is still, deep within them, on or two signatures, don’t you think? It was originally just going to be called Perfume, but I had to think of Patrick Suskind….
I think you should just call it whatever you want to call it as you are the one who has worked so hard on it. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet…
Re the title and my 5 cents worth: in analogy to Proust‘s „A la recherche du temps perdu“ perhaps it might be an alternative to write about „In Search of the Signature Scent“? The vs Your?? In might sound less than an article in Vogue, and more like the quest for the ultimate scent? Just an idea.
I like that, actually. And it definitely is a little Vogue sounding, isn’t it – but it’s supposed to be a commercial book. ‘The’ makes it sound a bit more abstract.
Yes! Will that be the cover photo? It’s an awesome photo!😍❤️
Never!
Love the photo and the title!!!!!

Thanks. I wish I had 100% control over aspect of it, but hopefully it will be something you enjoy.
PERFECT TITLE !!!!

Ha, lure the innocents in to find their signature: soon they’ll be grizzled bankrupts with cupboards full like the rest of us…

Hi Nelleke
I do have anxieties about it all, of course, but it will be what it will be. Exciting to have it out there.
Yes, it draws me in. As a novice/beginner I am always imagining I will find “my” scent. Cannot wait to read!
Thank you!
I am very very excited about this book. You are my very favorite perfume writer.
Thank you very much. That is flattering to hear!

I think this is the best title given the theme of the book – I quite like it.
Fantastic photo: reminds of the character Klytemnestra from Richard Strauss‘ opera Elektra!!
I like the sound of that!

Well now, “Peter Berlin” is rather lovely—
Many of them are quite amazing I think.
