L’heure Bleu is the most beautiful and poignant of any perfume ever created in my opinion. I own it in several vintages both in EDP and EDT. I do not have the pure parfum but hope to have it one day.
I want that badly too – but only in vintage. So rich and divine.
I haven’t got any vintages of L’Heure Bleue, only the recent formulation. i know it can’t be the same but I like it.
That bergamot with the powdery flowers and vanilla anise is such a gorgeous combination! I smell ridiculous in it so can’t wear it out the house, but I do love it
I am so happy to know that you enjoy it. I am so relieved and hopeful for the changes that will come in January. I know that Joe is going to sit at his desk all day, his first day, and undo every horrible executive order the criminal wrote. Now we just need to get those two Georgia senate seats to go blue in January and we can really make some progress. I haven’t picked a perfume to wear yet today. You have inspired me to wear L’Heure Bleue.
L’Heure Bleue is a sublime fragrance. Almost too exquisite in my opinion.
Interesting. You mean just too…….much ? Too distractingly gorgeous?
It’s just too gorgeous. When I wear it, I find that it just overwhelms me with its beauty. I find it hard to focus on much else, except the fragrance itself.
I have a love/hate relationship with L’Heure Bleue. It starts out as this giant presence that is completely formidable and profuse. The almost medicinal anise and coriander opening can make me wrinkle my nose. However, within an hour, I keep marveling at the scent that surrounds me. I have actually caught myself saying “what IS that? It smells so good right here!” I only have the vintage parfum, so I am curious to try a lighter vintage version, like the EDT.
Tora, you must try the Parfum de Toilette version. It is beyond amazing. Vintage parfum is my favorite way to wear this, then the pdt. The edt I really don’t remember well enough, but it was lovely as well.
That is good to know! Thank you!
☺️
Those 80’s PdTs ROCK MY BOAT. That is my favourite iteration of Mitsouko by far. Thick and powdery and delicious !
They are insanely wonderful. I always try to find them on eBay, definitely need backups.
How much are they, in general?
Usually between $90usd and $150usd.
SO worth it
Completely!!
‘Formidable and profuse’.
YES. It is almost too much; suffocating, even. I feel that Insolence is its grand-niece or something like that. A similar vibe. Intoxicating but extremely over the top!
Definitely. I wore it once on Christmas Day sprayed on a maroon cashmere scarf, and it was all I could think about the entire day. It smells ludicrous on my skin, but like that it was entrancing. How amazing, though, that a perfume can have this effect on us. A sign of pure genius.
It must have smelt divine on cashmere. They do not make them like that any longer. That is why we continue to hunt down these treasures.
You are so welcome, Tora.
