Reminds me of the swooning poet, probably a painting around the beginning of the 19th century. Shall try to find it!
Pose the same with fitting modern details.
Hope your muscles and sinews are recuperating well!!
I don’t recognize this but it is very close. And so apt.
Beautiful!!
My remembered painting was in very sombre colours and the man was very drunk or visited by divine inspiration. It was also so realistic that it became almost kitsch.
I am seeking but have not found it yet!
I believe this is poor Werther—The Sorrows of Young Werther; Die Leiden des jungen Werthers), an epistolary novella by Goethe from 1774—after he committed suicide because Charlotte rejected him. Dear me, there was a whole hysteria or craze after the novella was published.
Dear Saffron
You are absolutely right!!
I will check it! German Romantics.
Thank you for being so unbelievably well connected in vision and historical knowledge. Absolutely rare these days.
En nog in het nederlands ook!!
Blij je tegen te komen op de site van mijn geliefde Black Narcissus.
Zou het leuk vinden digitaal in touch te blijven, als jij dat tenminste wilt. Zo niet, prima.
And in Dutch too!
Happy to meet you on the site of my beloved Black Narcissus.
Would like to keep digital contact, only if that’s agreable. If not that’s fine.

Not too bad – better rather than worse.
would like to see The Poet
Was the poet a bit more than swooned, more like dead?
