I wish I could just be knocked out for the whole of tomorrow but then there’s the next four years to get through. Someone was saying on the radio today that people like me need to get a grip – we could be in Syria! – but this has global implications and is such a bad sign of the way things are going. “Evil” is also the word that keep coming into my head and I don’t care if people think it’s an overstatement. You know it when you see it.
No seriously, I am also quite suspicious of the word ‘evil’ as it is bandied about too easily and thoughtlessly. But anyone who wants to take away people’s health care when they have as much money as they do, in my book, literally are. Tara, I am with you! It is a bloody NIGHTMARE, but I intend to at least try to stay sane for the duration! Our blogs will definitely help us in this.

We help each other. I love these compassionate, sensitive, passionate connections. All the people we meet through perfume and other loves.
THANK GOD FOR THEM!!!!!
Reading about perfume and spraying it on myself after work after which I will have a glass of wine, makes me momentarily forget about the horrifying event that will take place tomorrow…Drumpf’s inauguration. I don’t think I have ever despised any person as much as I do him. God bless America (because he sure as hell isn’t going to).
Dear Neil, Tara, Filomena and all of you lovely perfume people…
I just want to say thanks for being there. I will come out of my defensive crouch eventually, but I still can’t bear to look or think for very long about what lies ahead. My only hope is that Trump’s stupidity and baseness will expose the truth behind “compassionate” conservatism, “trickle down” economics, school “choice,” “reverse” racism, pro “life” and all of the other myths used by the powerful to keep the weak in their places. My dear teenage daughter shared this powerful quotation with me, from her favorite animated film World of Tomorrow: “Now is the envy of all of the dead.”
So enjoy your Now defiantly this weekend, my dears, and let’s keep hoping and fighting back.

I know. And I don’t think we are overreacting either.
